"Once upon a time in a little town called Hertford, there lived a very young, yet avid collector of beautiful retro furnishings. Her love of mid 20th century design grew over the years into a wonderful obsession. Her humble home soon became full to the rafters with vintage treasures so she decided to share her retro finds with the rest of the world...Funky Junky was born and her love of 1950's, 1960's and 1970's retro vintage furniture could be spread throughout the land."
Our stock varies from the stylish 50's, 60's and 70's utility furniture to the classic pieces from designers such as Charles Eames, Hans Wegner, Merrow Associates, Hans Brattrud, Arne Jacobsen, Robin Day, Yrjö Kukkapuro, Verner Panton, John & Sylvia Reid, IB Kofod Larsen, Ernest Race, Arne Vodder, JL Moller etc. Whether it be a Danish leather sofa, a Scandinavian rosewood sideboard, a Norwegian teak chest of drawers or a classic Heals dining table and chairs, Funky Junky strives to provide a hand-picked selection of vintage furniture to complement your mid 20th century home or workplace.
We are choosey about the items we sell and aim to only offer pieces that we would love to live with in our own homes. Our philosophy is 'less is more' and we hold a small (but perfectly formed) selection of stock at any given time. The items do however sell rather quickly so there's always new and exciting pieces replacing the old.
*All new pieces will be added to the top left of each section's gallery. The sold items will be clearly marked 'sold' but are kept live on the site as a visual catalogue of the style of pieces that can be sourced upon request. The site will be updated within 24hrs of new stock arriving so please do check back.
